About Time College Group
INTRODUCTION
Time College Group, formerly Time College, began in 1995. We provide top quality tutoring services, covering all academic levels from Elementary to College and University. Time College Groupis a small-group/one on one style tutoring company with three locations across Greater Vancouver. Current campuses are in south Surrey, Richmond, and Vancouver.
We assist many students in a successful application to Ivy League Universities, including Princeton and Stanford. Our students have attended a number of renowned post-secondary institutions, including our own well known local universities, UBC and SFU.
We have a strong faculty which includes school teachers with valid BC provincial accreditation and university professors. We offer various courses in both Chinese and English, ranging from K-12 all subjects, AP/IB classes, ESL upgrading, English Test preparation (SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, LPI, GRE), BC Provincial Exam preparation, etc. Our teachers dedicate themselves to helping students improve their overall academic performance and assisting them to achieve their desired goals.
Our principal, Dr. Tang, has amassed a great wealth of teaching experience over the past several decades. He has personally helped a number of students gain admission to Ivy League Universities.

Alex Tang
Principal
Mr.Tang is Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry teaching expert. Graduated from Shanghai Tongji University, he has been working in the education field for 20 years. His students are everywhere, many of them went to top universities throughout the United States. His educational philosophy is: if you really want your child to excel, a good foundation is crucial. There is no way for easy success. Mr.Tang’s practical philosophy has attracted many students and parents to trust Time College Group. Mr. Tang is very strict with selecting good qualified teachers for our students. He strongly believes teacher’s quality has a direct impact on the quality of study and the achievement of students.
Matt
Math &Science Teacher
Matt was graduated from UCLA (one of the best Engineering School in the world), major in Electronic Engineering. Within accomplished the Full IB diploma program (emphasize on Physics and Chemistry) at Semiahmoo Secondary school with the final score of 37, it gives Matt the ability to teach Math, Physics, Chemistry (include AP/IB part), and also Science and SAT courses at all levels. During the studies in UCLA, he not only achieved the academic excellence, but also inducted into HKN (an electrical engineering honours society) for academic achievement. His extensive tutoring experiences both in school and after graduation enable him to have his unique teaching style which are very effective for different students.
Tim
Math & Science Teacher
Graduated from UC Berkeley (one of the most reputable Universities in the world) major in Physics. In High School, Tim was not only the Valedictorian graduate of the school, but also directed and leaded several Summer Camps and major events in & outside the school. Tim has worked as the Teaching Assistant of a number of engineering professors in UC Berkeley, joined several research and development projects. He also self-created and instructed one university level course, which attracted more than 50 students join the class. Tim’s passion on science never ends, he believes that having outstanding academic achievement will become more effective under the help of him and Time’s professional team.
Jocelyn
Star Instructor
Jocelyn has been Markers for IELTS test for years. He is specialized in IELTS and creative writing training. She is very passionate about teaching and writing. She is very kind and nice during teaching. Students are all deeply influenced by her personality and teaching style. Students of her have all improved dramatically on their IELTS test scores.
Jessica
Supervisor (White Rock)
Jessica graduated from Simon Fraser University majoring in Marketing. During the studies in SFU, she has successfully accomplished serval Marketing projects, which enables her to put different marketing strategies and knowledge into practice. Besides that, her working experiences in both IKEA China and Canadian Companies help her to gain great communication skills. She is very professional, detail-oriented and always passionate on the things she is doing. Jessica has been employed as the Supervisor for our White Rock Branch. Her responsibilities include seeking new market potential in White Rock and other general admin duties.
Christina
Star Instructor
Christina was graduated from SFU, major in Linguistic and Psychology. Not only graduated with the distinction, but also achieved numbers of Outstanding Academic Excellence Rewards. After graduation, she was hired as the Clerical Marker & Invigilator at SFU IELTS Testing Center, also worked as the teaching assistant at Cloverdale Catholic School, has more than 4 years professional experience in teaching. Besides teaching English at all levels, she is also proficient in teaching Spanish, French and Italian courses. Christina is always passionate on teaching, detail-orientated and patient, had helped numbers of student to get outstanding achievement at school.
Ryan

Ryan has taught for over four years on both sides of the Pacific. He holds a degree in History from UBC and has also been known to dabble in Literature. He teaches a wide variety of subjects ranging from IELTS and SAT to high school Social Studies and History. Ryan has long been inspired by the dedication of his students and is never happier than when he can help them achieve success.
Tess

Tess graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Thereafter she taught ESL before pursuing a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia in 2010. Tess has taught at Rockridge Secondary in West Vancouver, Byrne Creek Secondary in Burnaby, MacNeill Secondary in Richmond, and Richmond Secondary.
Chris

Chris graduated from UBC with a Master of Art. Students are very fond of his humorous teaching style. Chris is specialized in teaching ESL, School English, SAT and Social studies. In Chris’s class, students can improve their English in relaxing and pleasant way. At the same time, Chris also teaches creative writing in UBC. A lot of students have improved on their writing skill under Chris’s kind help.
Qi Qi
Star Instructor in Science
Qi Qi graduated from UBC with a Bleacher degree of Mathematics. In high school she has won the first place in the Mcmath Euclid Contest, and won the AP science awards which awarded by the BC provincial government. Besides that, she also gained numbers of scholarships during her studies. Being a teacher has always been her dream. In four years of teaching, she continues to study and improve together with the students. Her teaching experience had helped a lot of students to gain the interests in science and had better performance.
Zhi Li

Zhi Li graduated from UBC major in Engineering Science. During his studies in school, he has earned numbers of scholarships, such as the top 10% student scholarship in his first year. He also worked as the Teaching Assistant in math, physics, and computer science. His teaching experiences in UBC enables him to help students in different levels to achieve their goals.

New Oriental Eduaction & Technology Group Certified Senior Trainer. Dalian New Oriental Star teacher. Jessie has worked for various well-known foreign companies such as IBM, VolksWagon, Intel as English Trainer. She has yearsof frontlne experience in teaching English, especially IELTS training. Her teaching highlights an active and fun classroom atmosphere. Jessie has helped lots of students get used to the North American life and succeed in their IELTS test.
Tyler

Tyler was born and raised on the West Coast of Canada. After completing his degree in University of Victoria, he also completed his BA in English Literature in UBC. This academic experience, along with a love of travel, led him to teaching and tutoring a variety of subjects with a focus on ESL. Tyler enjoys the challenge of helping motivated people achieve their personal and academic goals.

Chad

Chad graduated from Harris University in US majoring in Science. After graduation, he got his TEFL certificate, and taught in varies high schools both in China and South Korea. Besides that, Chad also had a fair amount of experiences in teaching in Universities, such as Tsing Hua University, Chinese Aerospace University and more. He is very loyal and passionate teacher, and easy to get along with and form great rapports with his students. Chad is also specializing in IELTS, SAT, and SSAT preparations.
Rena

Rena holds the master degree in Applied Arts from Emily Carr University. She is specialized in Social Studies, SAT, SSAT and School English. During the studies in University, she has gained the Top Graduate Student scholarship, and had an extraordinary performance on her projects. Besides studies, Rena likes to play music, she has her own band, and had produced numbers of short movies by her own. Rena is always patient, and knows what and how to improve the students’ performances.
Sherwin

Sherwin graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1996 with a Bachelor Degree specializing in Communications and Fine Arts. His teaching experiences in South Korea, Taiwan and Vancouver enables him to work with both children and adult learners. He wishes all students at Time College Group to “go for their dreams” and to achieve their personal best. Sherwin is specialized in teaching Social Studies, History, Geography, School English, Writing and much more.
Elaine

Teacher Elaine has taught English for more than 10 years, she has taught in Canada, Japan, Korea and many other Asian countries. Her experiences in Asia enables her to know the weakness of the Asian students, and has her unique opinions on what and how to help the Asian students to achieve their goals. Elaine is always passionate on what she is doing, she is nice and helpful, and she is always patient to her students. Elaine is able to teach all levels of ESL courses. Sunny

Sunny holds a Master’s Degree from UNLV. He has been actively teaching adult ESL and IELTS for many years. He has lived in North America most of his adult life. The excellent familiarity with North American life enables him to incorporate vivid life examples into his teaching. Students are able to get to know the true North American life in a short time under his kind and patient help.
Joris
IELTS/AE Instructor
Joris graduated from UBC. He has been teaching English in China for many years. He has worked in New Oriental Education & Technology Group and Global Education. He is specialized in IELTS and Adulte ESL teaching. He employs different teaching methods to suit various student needs. Students all love his logical, practical and patient teaching style.
Vania
Star Instructor
Vania holds a BA in English and History and a B. Ed., both from Simon Fraser University. She is passionate about teaching and helping her students develop interest and confidence in language arts, whilst also making connections in history, culture, and current events. She started tutoring elementary school students while still in high school, and has continued on to tutor every grade level from gr. 1 to university literature. In her free time she has volunteered as a youth counsellor and enjoys leading summer camps.
Beth

Beth graduated from UBC in 2011, with a major in psychology. Since graduating, she has been teaching English, SAT, and ESL in South America and Vancouver. She loves hiking around BC, running, and reading. Her teaching highlight is seeing students go on to succeed.
Jason

Jason has been tutoring over the last 5 years. He will be graduating in May 2015 with a Bachelor Degree in Mining engineering from UBC. After receiving perfect score on the math 12 provincial exam and with 99% overall in math 12, he started tutoring after graduating from high school. He has helped a large number of high school students to achieve their goals in either mathematics or physics classes. In addition, he also tutored university/college students in first year and second year calculus. He has a very simple goal while teaching and that is try to explain every concept in a very simple manner that everybody can understand. Also, he always try to use different explanations and try to explain the same concept so that students can pick what makes the most sense to them.”
Zhao Yang
IELTS/ TOFEL Instructor
Zhao Yang holds the master degree of English Education, has more than 10 years professional teaching experience in and out of Canada. She is also the holder of Chinese High School Teaching License and Band-8 Certificate of Test for English Majors. After graduation, she had been employed as an English teacher in the High School attached to Northeast Normal University, which is one of the top four high schools in Changchun, China. She also been employed by Beijing JuRen Education Group, and always rated as the Top Teacher by students. Her students are all around the world, and her teaching style always received lots of acclaim and highlights an active atmosphere. She is now teaching IELTS, TOEFL and other English subjects in Time College Group.
